About 100 coaches across the nation were asked which player they would like to add to their roster. Maal didn't even get into the also receiving votes category. Apparently none of these coaches have been to the Drew League games. Lots of love for guys that haven't even set foot on the court yet.
"Jamaal Franklin" is still relatively unknown to the College Basketball world. Besides the West Coast, most coaches and fans in the country have seen SDSU play exactly 1 time... vs. NC State You can't "want" someone you don't even know about.

If I could choose any player in the country to build a team around, I'm going with Cody Zeller also. He's the best player in the country. Doug McDermott is limited athletically, but he's also a guy I would consider. You can't go wrong with those guys.
100 coaches? Not a one? Wow! I am not buying "because we are on the west coast" crap! Jamaal is an outstanding player but coaches could have a hard time with him. He is so unpredictable....a risk. Like I have been saying from day 1, he could be a lottery pick if he played less "playground ball" and more organized ball. He is extremely exciting for fans, but too unpredictable for coaches. His unpredictability is what makes him great in a way, but also can be a drawback at the same time. He is an enigma, plain and simple.

Then you don't get out much LOL. If you did, I guarantee you there wouldn't be many people (let alone college hoops fans) who wouldn't know this guy's name.
With your help he could probably make a pretty decent presidential run.
It's one thing to know a guys name, but to actually see him play and know his game enough to "want" him is another thing. I'll bet NBA scouts know more about Jamaal than the nations College coaches.
I feel for the man. I had a similar thing happen to me when they asked 100 Victoria's Secret models who they would most like to make sweet love to and I didn't get a single vote! I'm pretty sure east coast bias had something to do with the results.

100 coaches were asked to pick one player, how is that shocking that Jamaal wasn't picked?
You just wanted to use this as an opportunity to take a shot at Jamaal. Like this "slight" was in any way a result of some inherent flaws beyond him not being as good as the players picked.
Yeah, Howell...that guy was a monster. The both of them were complete mis-matches. It's teams like that where you wish you had a zone defense in your back pocket.
We didn't have the option of overwhelming anyone with speed and athleticism because the only athletic guy in our line up was Jamaal. This year we'll have DP, JF, DeShawn, all running the break. Those are some horses right there!

Not sure how you thought it was a slight. I have nothing but positives about Jamaal. This year could be very hard on Jamaal if he doesn't have his mind right. Coach Fisher says, "Last year at this time, nobody had heard of Jamaal," Fisher said. "This year, all eyes will be on him. He's going to have to be able to give up the basketball more and help somebody else be better."
In coach speak that means he will have to play team ball. This year we won't have a 6 man rotation and rely on him making something happen. There will be others on the floor. I see this as a really important year for him and if he has any dreams of the NBA he will have to get in the team game more. Coaches know this, sometimes being the best on the floor is a curse as the opponents are gunning to shut you down and force others to beat you. when teams are focusing on JF this year, we will find out if he can help the team in other ways, that is all I am saying.
