You mean because they don't want to support a candidate that is more Tea Party than Dem? Or because it could only happen in Tennessee?

Who is "they"? Looks like "they" voted for the more Conservative or libertarian guy but the Dem party leaders don't want to support who their membership voted for. Now is that not stupid on just about every level you can think of? But then, they are Democrats!

No. It has to do with the fact that so many candidates were running that any old hound dawg or blue dawg could win.

Why do you constantly require explanation when you already know the obvious answer? The point is that the guy got elected becasue the field was so spread. Had it been a narrow field he most likely would have lost. In any case, it's a silly argument. It's a conservative seat and no Dem was going to win it regardless. Which begs the issue, why did you even post the link in the first place, other than to put up another silly argument about how conservatives are "smarter." Not.

Not really an answer, but you do seem to point out that this Conservative/Libertarian talking fellow knew how to get the right to run in the fall. No liberal down there was that smart.
