We don't have a true 5 on next year's team. It is up for grabs by any of our 4s. Shelton played a five last year and the team did just fine - even though he couldn't even do the jump balls due to bad knees.
Even James Johnson seems like more of a Mo Abukar type forward.

Very few teams in the NCAA have a legit 5 man.
Why start a borderline fringe 6'10 260 pound guy when you can go get a Dany Granger type 6'8 220 and dominate the slow big guys.
The problem comes when you get in the tourney and have to face a Syracuse big man. Thats when you hope your team knows how to double the post and play solid defesne.

Love in the highlight when Polee goes up with two hands and just catches the kids layup instead of swatting it. I remember watching these highlights during the '09/'10 school year and day dreaming about how fun it'd be to watch Polee as an Aztec. Got my wish!

I am very excited to see our new players ,plus the returning guys. The big ?? is going to be the play of our # 4 and #5 positions. We have Stephens, JJ, Spencer, Johnson (mid December),not much experience. Toss in a rotation of Polee ,who prefers the #3 , Shepard. and possibly Jamaal. We have some very difficult match ups when we play The Orangemen , UCLA, and the possibility of playing Arizona in the T in Hawaii . Then in the regular season 2 games with UNLV.

Our 4 & 5 position will be better than it was last year. Easily!
