New BCS Football format « Thread Started on Jun 25, 2012, 11:56am »
Given the upcoming changes to the BCS National Championship formula in 2 years, this leaves one year (2013) for the Aztecs to play in a BCS game as we know it.
What do you think the chances are we play well enough in our first year of Big East play to garner a major bowl game in 2013? It would be a bucket list item for me to see the Aztecs play in either the Sugar, Cotton, Orange or Fiesta!

We'll have at least two trips to the east coast, which we won't be used to, and we'll be breaking in a new QB. The chances are therefore slim and none.

If the Aztecs do go to the Big East, I'll be thrilled if they make any bowl game in 2013.
If they go to a BCS Bowl, I will sell my possessions and join a doomsday cult because the end is clearly nigh.

9-3 will do the trick. That why I think Boise should have left this year instead of the following. They would have been able to play two BCS bowl games. There AD is really having a difficult time pulling the trigger. Must be new on the job and feels he needs to justify his tenure.

So you're saying there's a chance....... Yes!!
Aaaaahhh, name your two trips to the East Coast? I don't see any this season. Remember we play Army at the Q (home). The only way we go to the east is if we get a bowl bid. You are right about our chances, and Slim just got beat up in the back alley. Unless we get really creative, and fortunate we are probably not going to a BCS Bowl this season. More likely a small Bowl closer to home.
We'll be solid at every position except QB, I say it's a decent chance.
We will??? What makes you say that? In fact, I believe we will be pretty good at QB (maybe not great, but adequate), but the OL, and DL are questionable. At least right now, and both the kicker/punter will be new & inexperienced. The only places Rocky has any confidence in is the WR's, possibly the RB's & TE's. We have a lot of work to do in all areas of the team. They can turn out good, but it is not a given.

You forgot a couple areas Rocky can have confidence in, the secondary and LB.
