"Because he's the hero SDSU deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...a dark knight." -Commissioner Gordon on Rocky Long

With the next opening can we at least poach a Sun Belt "program"?
Evidently, the bar is now so sufficiently low that we'll never have to worry about another program taking our coaches. I guess that's our new standard.

Low-hanging fruit is just as delicious as the fruit higher on the tree. Just ask the farm (Stanford). It paid off for them with Harbaugh.
And to turn your Sun Belt jab around. I wouldn't mind if Sterk phoned Willie Taggart (WKU) for the HC job if Rocky decided to retire sooner. Taggert has studied under two Harbaughs; Jack and Jim.

Yeah, because no one wanted our OL coach who came from lowly-hanging Idaho.

I'll bet Stanford fans were wondering that very thing about Harbaugh and staff.
Ah, but I see others have already covered that.
So this guy was a qb for years at a major school and in the NFL; his brother is an NFL head coach; His father was a head coach in college for years? I'm glad the situations are exactly the same

Don't you think we should start beating those Sun Belt "programs" in bowl games before we start talking down on them or anyone else?
So we agree that Rocky can't beat bowl teams in the regular or post season and he isn't the answer then? and him hiring basically kids to coach oline and work them and lift them out and then some lower-than-sun-belt coaches isn't a positive sign that we will soon be beating middle of the pack sun belt teams.

Does anyone recall the name of that ex-pro oline coach we had last year who went back to school? They mentioned his name on 1360AM yesterday, and he got his degree this month. That makes him eligible to be a line coach now. Mike Schmidt is still listed as GA.

And we didn't want a HC from lowly Ball State and UM didn't want a HC from lowly SDSU - funny how that happens...
