Just wrapped an article on Dakota Turner. Most of the article is the interview itself as Turner's answers were impressive. Looks like the Aztecs stole one here..

Thanks. Was he referring to Ed Ulufanua? Is he part of the staff now?

That kid would make an intimidating drill instructor. Gladly for SDSU, he will be an intimidating defensive lineman. Can't wait to see him play at the Q

Dakota made an interesting comment referencing his "4-5 yrs at SDSU". If a Redshirt season has been discussed (or is enacted) he may start as a Freshman. Will be surprised if it happens for a true Freshman.

Dakota is extremely well spoken for a high school football player. Great interview. Nice get for SDSU.

Also, given his character, I don't think we have to worry about a de-commitment.

Interesting young man. Appears to genuinely care about teammates and their success/opportunity.....and is a beast on the field.

If he plays Dline - he'll likely redshirt. Like how is keeps pushing his Hawaii teammates (and other local players). Would love to get a Hawaiian pipeline going

In his interview he says he had the money to get to the mainland and show off this skills and others do not have that opportunity. Well SDSU should give them that opportunity. We should run a camp in Hawaii to see the players. Set up a camp, get the coaches to go there for 5 days or so, run the camp and see dozens of players and develop the pipeline. The culture there is about respect, show respect by going there and meeting them there. Don't sit back and wait, be on the offensive. Think outside the box.

Boondoggle! ;)

Actually a really good idea - I would think Hawaii is worth the investment. Plenty of good players and a little less competition than we have in CA and TX.

BTW anyone else notice, we seem to be offering a lot of out of state players - hope this is a good sign for the budget and the coaches networks.

Pretty good combo. Coach Long and staff made a great call in offering prior to his departure.

He should look into the sports marketing MBA. Is Dennis Green still involved with the program? I see he is a UFL coach and living in Del Mar.

No he shouldn't. Worst degree ever conceived. I worked in the front office for a major league sports industry (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) for a few years and later received an ivy league MBA and there is nothing that can specifically prepare someone for employment in that field that a general business degree cannot. That whole sports marketing MBA is a freaking joke and waste of the schools' and students' resources.
