You can say the same about the majority of local media. Couldn't get the FS San Diego or the Mtn on Time Warner but they busted out the knee pads quick for the Pac-12 network. Even "San Diego's sports leader" attended the Pac-12 media day instead of the MWC. Tough to get local support in this town unless you're highly successful.

It's not even close. Hacksaw is Rod Page compared to me. But I have a great time on the air or else I would've canceled it by now.

If this BB dude really did care about the Tourism Bureau and the people that were paying him, he would try like hell to get SDSU into the PAC12 because it would mean filling many more hotel rooms with visitors from the 5 or 6 PAC12 home games instead of just 2 bowl games. Not only the Hotels, but bars and restaurants would benefit big time.

He does care about Sdsu in one facet, the hospitality and tourism management program at that university. Most probably don't realize but it is the most competitive major at Sdsu. He is very active with that program. Being in a bowl game is all about traveling and doing local activities. I'm sure Sdsu doesnt even want to play in the p. bowl. Sdsu just needs to build its alumni base and weed out all the cheapies that complain about 15 dollar parking. Some universities require minimum 15000 donation just to keep basic season tickets.

Aloha,

My point was that if BB really cared about the Tourism revenue in San Diego, the best thing he could do with respect to sports visitors that spend money would be to work like hell to get SDSU into the PAC12 and make it known.

I don't like the way the local bowl officials have treated San Diego State. I can understand their reasoning, but I don't have to like it.

I would love to see SDSU finish 11-1 and be ranked in the Top-10. Then maybe the Holiday Bowl would ask the Aztecs to play. To which request I would hope our response would be: Go pound some sand down on Pacific Beach.

Where's the mistreatment coming from? Binkowski's job is to put together 2 bowl games that could potentially draw the most attendance, ratings, local business, and profit. SDSU might not always be the best option even if they are bowl eligible. You can't expect the bowl official to bend over backwards and roll out the red carpet just because we're the hometown team. It's a business and you have to do what's in the best interest of profiting.

Of course we set the record. We were playing Navy and going for our 1st FBS Bowl win. SDSU vs LaTech would've been alright but the ratings and attendance wouldn't have been the same.
