Trying to pull the trigger on Seattle this week
« Thread Started on Jul 26, 2012, 12:51pm »

Never been to Seattle, and the only thing I know about the place is that the Seahawks play there and Nirvana rules. Need some info.

First off, gonna purchase flight and accommodations separately. Where is everyone staying? Is there a general area where Aztecs are gathering?

Second, if I want to purchase Tailgate and Tix, is that an option? I believe it is.

Thanx

Here is the link for Aztec Sports Travel.
http://www.aztecsportstravel.com/football/sdsu-at-washington.php

I am in the same boat. Looking to book hotels and airfare this week. Airfare from SD round trip is in the $400 range and there are some decent looking hotels ($150-$200 per night) near downtown that are within walking distance to the light rail.

Not really worried about game tickets.

Im going the expedia route, and there seems to be decent packages for flight/hotel (2 nights) near the airport. Light rail service the airport?

Yeah the Seattle Link LRT runs from SeaTac north to the Westlake neighborhood. Weekend service runs about every 10 minutes according to their website. Day passes look like they cost $5.50 per day.

I'm not looking to rent a car.

Just so you know - Westlake is in the center of town - Plenty of eating/shopping options there and the Famous Pike Street Market is just a short walk - The waterfront isn't far either.
The Light rail is a good way to get to the Clink (the Stadium).
From Westlake, you can ride the Monorail north to Seattle Center if you want to check out the Space Needle...
Lastly, you can ride the SLUT* from Westlake to Lake Union for more eat/drink places.

* South Lake Union Trolley
(not it's official name, but that's what we call it - you can even get "I rode the SLUT" tee shirts) 8-)

Go State

Seattle is a great city. Stay in downtown somewhere - plenty going on and within a mile or so of the stadium from what i remember, overall very clean and safe. Lots to do within walking distance.

just so everyone is aware, the game is not at huskies stadium...it is where seahawks play,...which is closer to downtown. Airfare looks to be about $400ish...if you can manager to fly out wednesday or thursday before game it can be a lot cheaper.

im an idiot...those $400 flights were $240 a month ago...

still trying to pull trigger as well

Can't help with where to stay. My stepdaughter and granddaughter live in Edmonds. My wife and I are going up the Wednesday before the game and coming back the following Wednesday.

Our RT tickets were a combined $357 on Southwest, and I have a Southwest voucher for $600 so I get to go for the price of 4 game tickets and the $58 in taxes for the flight. :D

All four of us will be sitting in the end zone near the designated Aztec ticket area.

I've been to Seattle numerous times (brothers live there). Beautiful city. I recommend taking the Underground Tour (begins at Pioneer Square, runs about 2-1/2 hours) -- learn all about the dubious beginnings of the city--opium dens, fires, crappers, etc. I'll be at Husker Stadium, too, though conflicted about where to sit (staying with my brothers who are UW alumni and feel obliged to sit with them--sigh.....).

Staying by the airport there are 3 or 4 hotels just across the street and within a block of the light rail to the stadium and downtown. also the Mariners are in town Fri 7pm game and Sat 1pm game just a block from the FB stadium. And there is a Micro brewery next to the BB stadium. Also Sluggers Sports bar is across the street from the BB stadium.

Got three round trip tickets, nonstop on the best airline (virgin) for a total of $710. Unfortunately it was three months ago but so stoaked!
