I was able to watch the whole game as I bought the summer league broadband online. Malcolm looked active and eager from the start, he was going after rebounds but maybe doing it a bit out of control. He had a nice block early and a couple of nice defensive boards. Then he got an offensive rebound, their were about 3 guys right around him and instead of setting it back up and throwing it to the PG he tried to rush a shot inside and it got blocked, he got his own rebound and he got blocked again. But from that time on he seemed to make better decisions on offense, he made some really nice passes which resulted in fouls and 2 missed layups by other Bulls players.
He had many impressive offensive boards and a couple impressive defensive boards, in the second half he did a much better job of playing more relaxed on the offensive end and taking his time to finish down low. He also had some nice blocks. All in all Malcolm played well especially on the boards and with his blocks but he can play better and improve on offensive end. He looked worthy of an NBA roster but this is just based off 1 summer game, he will have 4 more games to prove himself.

finished with 10 points and 13 boards. That was 2nd best in points and tops in boards for his team.

Hopefully he can impress enough for a team to pick him up. Even as a role player. His best asset is probably defense and a lot of teams are looking for that type of player now.

Today was what will be Malcolm's toughest competition of all the summer league games, The Bulls played the Rockets who have 3 NBA quality bigs (Terrence Jones, Royce White, and Josh Harrellson) well actually their roster has 4 but Donatas Motiejunas was out. Terrence Jones and Royce White in particular have been terrific in the summer league.
Ok on to Malcolm, I was able to watch about 3/4ths of his game. Malcolm played well for the most part but again started off a bit bad, there are times when you can tell the summer league team hasn't practiced much and you don't see much cutting at all. Malcolm again started off the game with a couple impressive defensive rebounds in traffic, he had a couple really nice finishes off good passes by Teague in traffic. In the second half he struggled on offense but altered some shots. One of Malcolm's biggest issues is his slight frame and it showed today as Royce White and Terrence Jones were able to overpower him at times and establish deep post position. The biggest thing about Malcolm to take from this game is he was able to rebound well against a team with 3 solid NBA rebounders, it was a good step forward. If he continues to play well I think he will get a roster spot as a 4rth or 5th big somewhere.

It says San Diego, but not San Diego State.

After just finishing watching Malcolm Thomas's third summer league game it is clear he will get a camp invite; whether with the Bulls or elsewhere. Malcolm finished with 16 rebounds; which makes it his third straight game with at least 13 rebounds (he leads the summer league), he was a menace on the boards, and attacked the offensive glass with ferocity, the non stop energy and athletisism is what makes him such a good rebounder.
On the offensive end he showed some progress, made 2 nice jump hooks and seemed to take his time on the block more, he seems to have a pretty good idea of positioning but his lack of strength does hurt him on the post. His defense was solid but unspectacular, unlike the Houston game Golden State only has 1 decent offensive big (Draymond Green), Ezeli is very much a work in progress. Malcolm did a good job of not letting Green and Ezeli establish early post position, and having solid footwork on defense, he needs to make sure to not go for head fakes as he bit on a few. Malcolm played a great game.

It looks like Malcolm's next game will be televised on NBATV on Saturday at 5:30 pm (channel 795 on TWC). I was just watching some summer league highlights and they had a nice dunk by Malcolm. He was owning the boards.

Malcolm looking good in the game against the Clippers. Leads the team in scoring and rebounds at halftime. Headed for another double double. Getting lots of love from Greg Anthony, who is announcing the game.

Thomas can't do anymore to make an NBA roster than he's done.

I couldn't agree more. His isolation play in the post is still below average, but he's done everything else extremely well.
