of course it's feasible. The chargers want major streams of cash which in the NFL CBA is luxury boxes - everything else gets pooled. The Q is not only sustainable, that lot will be the future of SDSU as a research university.

University of Houston sucks in academics. Let them have their stadium. We should focus on balancing academics and sports.

The enviro-wackos, tax lawyers and the whinners that live around the campus will have SDSU in court for 30 years before one shovel moves an ounce of soil. Getting things built in this town is impossible. How long did it take for Cox now Vejas Arena to be built after all the legal challenges? What about that other project the school wanted, Paseo? It would be good for the students but it will never happen for the reasons I already stated in the first line of this post. The best SDSU can do it hope and pray that the Q goes no were. Stadium threads are like uniform, Zuma and helmet threads....they go on and on over the same old stuff.

Still waiting on the hacked up google maps images that show just how *easy* it would be to put a stadium on campus.

I know it's been asked 10,000 times, but if the stadium were to go on campus, where would it go exactly?

The new Mission Valley campus.

Or where Tony Gwynn Stadium sits now. Drop baseball, add men's track.

The rumors I've heard involve the lot where the music building and softball field are...

Not exactly possible.

Any stadium construction would require a foundation that would encroach on the trolley tunnel.

Given the fact that SDSU and MTDB got in a bit of a tiff about 5 years back about the trolley construction damaging the foundation of the now razed Aztec Center, my guess is that MTDB would be very skeptical of any heavy construction directly above the tunnel.

Could be, I'm just repeating what I heard.

Either way, the discussion is moot until the Charger situation is settled anyway.

"Leadership Starts Here"... Building our own stadium irrespective of what the chargers do, cements Aztec football will be loud and proud for decades to come. ie..Aztec basketball.

Where do these rumors come from? You have major below grade conflict with the trolley tunnel. No way MTA is letting you get close to that.

There's some substance to that, however, in my opinion we do not have either the state funds, nor the students with the willingness to vote increases, to fund it internally. And sadly we have only a few alumni willing or able to pony up some funds, but not on the scale of at least $50 million to (what I believe to be more likely) $200 million for a new Aztec stadium. We do have many alumni of course, but most with those deep pockets, have short arms.

Not only can we, but it's the only way we will ever become a consistent winner. A have-not into a have.

It's a must.

Football in Texas is a whole different world. Have you seen the size of some of their high school stadiums? Hell, you'd think they'd put that kind of money into their academics. It's madness.

Here's a quick test ....let's see how much success we would have in re-painting the Giant S on Cowles Mountain ? If that gets done then try to build a on campus stadium. Come on folks there is no way that the S would be approved or allowed to be re-painted. Believe me I wish it would and could be ...but between the enviro wacko's just for starters it would not happen..!!

An on-campus stadium would definitely up the student interest. Buy up the houses on Hewlett Dr. ;)

One of these things is not like the other...

Apples, meet oranges.

(And take your political agenda and weak and unoriginal political name-calling smack to the appropriate board)

Sleepy....
Apples...Oranges....!?

I will ignore your other comments ...if you took them as being political...(which you mentioned twice..) weak...perhaps you should take your political response elsewhere.

The question was about building an on campus stadium....if we can't re-paint some rocks the side of mountain tell me what chance there is to build a stadium?
