You need to. Not so much for him. I am sure he already learned his lesson. But you need to do it for compliance reasons.
Plus it doesnt hurt us if you suspend him for the first few games. He isnt going to be a starter the first part of the season anyways.
So I think it would be a smart move if fisher suspends him. Again, not to punish him, but to show to outsiders that we wont sweep things under the rug or let things slide.
To my recollection, Fish has never refrained from suspending a player who got into criminal trouble. So the question isn't whether Shepard will be suspended, but simply for how long.
IDK, that's why I am asking. There was a prior post referring to Franklin having a similar situation. So, no other SDSU players have gotten busted or suspended by Fisher for illicit use of drugs?
google.com
Good suggestion. Thanks.
OK, so you've recently had:
- Franklin the angry young drunk driver - Wade the burglar - Shepard the pot head

Completely honest assessment:
This is unfortunate, he will receive a minor suspension and hopefully will learn from this. Not that I had any reason to suspect something more, but I was relieved to click the link and find out what he was cited for.
Relatively speaking, Fisher's teams have stayed out of trouble, and learned from their mistakes when issues arise. I expect the same from Shepard.
LOL at people defending him if it was anyone else you would look at hi a lil differently
Uh not at all...athletes are actually held to a higher standard. Almost everyone I know smoked weed in college and most still do even in their 30's. And that was at dorky UCSD. It's no big deal.

No, as a matter of fact I wouldn't. We're talking about an 18 yr old kid caught with "small amounts" of marijuana. The whole thing is ridiculous.
Completely absurd. Shouldn't even have been arrested and no one should even know about this. Either SDSU police made a mistake or the Union Tribune blew this way outta proportion.

I wouldn't put any blame on them, they're completely justified in reporting it.
