Better to have it now and have him healthy for the season.

I'm glad he likes pick-up games. Otherwise he may have injured it in camp and have to miss part of the season.

Good to hear about Rahon. Now that we have the much needed height that was lacking last season, all the 3-point threats need to be 100% healthy to make the team well rounded

It's like that rock in your shoe. You're always thinking of it but can't take it out in the middle of a game. Messed up his groove and his shots. Expect him to return back to Sweet 16 form.

Rahon was playing in pain all year and averaged 31.7 minutes (32.4 in conference) a game. I expect him to have a great year not only due to being more pain free but also playing less minutes. He will be the player off the bench that comes in and lights up the scoreboard much like the first game we saw him play at Long Beach State in 2010.

In that game Rahon came off the bench to hit three 3-point baskets in 2 minutes and 12 seconds to change the games from a 1 point Aztec lead to a 10 point lead. Long Beach was playing great and the Aztecs might have opened the season with a loss instead of 20 wins, except for Rahon.

NICE. We need him to get a real 3 point threat, with no excuses this season. He has been a great player, even though not a hundred percent...just imagine if he does come back 100% AZTECS ARE LOADED!

It is hard to place Rahon on the bench but Thames is a point guard, Tapley and Franklin are both first team all-MWC type players, and playing 4 guards this year seems to only be an option for a changeup lineup. Rahon would be starting for most teams. He is a starter type of talent. I expect he will still get 20-25 minutes a game coming off the bench to spell Tapley and Franklin.

No doubt in my mind at all that Rahon will be coming off the bench. No way is he a starter on next years team with the talent we have.

I agree but not as forcefully.

His was praised by Fisher as the best defensive guard we have. I don't know if Fisher was trying to challenge the other guards or he was speaking absolute truth. In either case Rahon has become a very good defensive player. His offense is top notch if he is hitting 3s like he can. So starting would not be a total surprise, at least for part of the season. That possibility is there for Fisher to use, if needed, to keep all players on their toes.

Last night I watched the 2nd half of the Wichita State game from 2010. That game was won via a full court press with Billy White running wild in the back court. We didn't really press much last year due to depth issues. It will be fun to see that again. With the personnel we have next year we should be able to give some teams fits and still keep everyone fresh via our deep bench.

It's a race between Rahon's foot and Kyle Anderson's thumb. My money is on the foot.

Did you notice in the part of the linked article dealing with Alec William's transfer that he will have only one season of illegibility left? I had thought that he might have two.

With only one, there was no way he could have transferred to a DI school even if he had received an offer.

I actually saw this game when he got hurt in May at the ARC.

I'll discuss it more during my podcast tonight.

Awesome, Bill. Glad to see you're doing some off-season film work. Your hard work will pay off during the grind of the regular season when you're still able to make insightful psots.
