I think the writer is clueless. He says it was about the incident in 2010 and Lindley should let it go. Who says? I think it was more about the last 30-40 years of BYU officials making homer calls in every sport.

They're going to be trying to live down that incident for the next 2 decades.
I don't think BYU is guilty of rigging that specific call. They're just guilty of creating the circumstances that allowed it to happen. It will cause all opponents from here on out to be leery of getting a fair shake on the Provo campus -- something that's hard to live with when you're a football independent and starving for quality opponents at home to lend your program some credibility.

There's a reason why we're in the stands and they're on the field/court.

I especially like that the YouTube link is to the entire football game -- like any random reader would watch a whole game to see the play in question.
It's not as if there aren't any videos or stills available in a simple internet search.
See what happens once you're exposed, BYU ... you never get the benefit of the doubt again, be it 18 seconds, 18 months or 18 years after the fact.

It's funny how the BE fans blindly want to add them. They know nothing about them other than they don't play on Sundays and have accumulated a nice won-loss record over the years. Many of the MWC goats bite their tongue, but they know better. The sportswriters, bloggers, tweeters and other media outlets can vouch for them all they want. Fortunately, the fraternity of university presidents talk amongst themselves. I predict over time BYU will end up back into the MWC.

I remember that game very well, Byu needed that win, they pulled out all the tricks to get it. When someone gets hosed by a ref, it shall henceforth be referred to as getting Bunned. Manny Pachiao got Bunned.

I read nothing about there being a legit intention to add these BYUassholes to the BE. If it ever materialized, the Aztecs should fight hard against. it. Or, drop the BE. Well, let's hope not.

| You are wrong, the refs actually made the right call there and actually had sufficient video footage to make the review. Watch again, Ronnie stayed in bounds and fumbled the ball while still in bounds. But then Ronnie rolled out of bounds and touched the ball before anyone else obtained posession of the ball. Since he touched the ball while out of bounds, the play is ruled dead. Look at the slo-mo at 1:33:33, while out of bounds Hillman actually rolls the ball about a foot.

Actually, according to Rule 4, Article 2, Section 3.a even if he fumbled it (which he did) he touched it before anyone could take possession of it. This means that the ball is ruled out of bounds.
A fumble out of bounds is given to the team that last had possession at the point of the fumble.
The call on that play even if wrong, didn't change the game from what a correct call would've been.
